fly birdie.....FLYYYYYYY!!!!!!

that's what it felt like when slightly emotional i set off papa to fly to melbourne yesterday morning... well, i didn't exactly take him to the airport and since we haven't heard from him so far, we can only assume that all went well...
this past week went very well and i think that papa managed to see quite a few things, and his faves a couple extra times... by faves I obviously mean the bats at the botanic garden (which had also fascinated Lolo in his time) and the opera house for which the statistics of number of photos taken by tourist might suddenly go up after papa's stay down under.... I think that back in france, he will easily be able to have a slide show dedicated to the opera house, no worries mate!!
the week was topped up by a road trip down south for the week end to Jervis Bay mainly. and so, many birds and other native species were crossed off the list of "must-sees" such as the famous kukaburra and the annoying Gahla (+others) as well as a pair of massive (my biggest so far) kangaroos performing something that looked like either a mating ritual or fighting... hard to tell with these aussies...., some emus (unfortunately farmed ones but still), a reasonably sized sting ray and a biker dog wearing a striped yellow and black sweatshirt and its own custom-made pair of biker goggles..... yup.
accompanied by a few beers, some wedges and burgers with the lot (including beetroot) i think we can safely say that it was a very successful week-end and will be excited to have my pix developed in the next couple days...
as I said, we haven't heard from papa yet but he is staying with Peter, chris' architect uncle who is back in Melbourne for a couple days and then, working his way up to Albury until saturday...
On saturday, Chris' parents and papa will drive back up to sydney where a massive familieS dinner will take place, including Lolo!!!!! so much fun to come!!

i say a slid show isn't a slid show with yet even more pictures of the same thing from a different angle, for further understanding please direct yourself to http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/2500piece-crystal-palace/2006/08/14/1155407741475.html

All of this sounds very exciting and jolly so I am thrilled even if I'm stuck on the rancho. How about an ice cube copy of the Opera House for the big day, whenever Christo is ready ? Caz, so have you met the old man yet or not ?

i did meet the old man, on friday night with a superbly large bolognase that fb and i cooked up, and christophoson washed up.

and i am extremely glad that he has taken to tim tams so whole heartedly as it means that there is something of my diet in the heatly and food triangle compliant flat

Just be sure it's a restaurant that is neither too dark nor too noisy so that Lolo and Jeannot can follow the conversation with ease ... Otherwise, they may start jabbering together in frog language.
